Straight answers matter here more than anywhere else on this site. This page explains what Expedition Ready is, what it is not, and what you are agreeing to when you train with us or act on anything published here.

1. Coaching, not medical care

Expedition Ready provides fitness coaching and education. Alex Huang is a coach, not a physician, and nothing on this site, in the Health Terminal, in emails, or in coaching sessions is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The Health Terminal computes trends from your own data for training decisions only. Anything that looks like a physician's territory gets referred to your physician.

2. Talk to your doctor first

Before starting this or any training program, consult your physician, especially if you are over 40, have been sedentary, or have any condition a doctor manages, such as heart, metabolic, or blood-pressure conditions. Where you disclose a managed condition, we require written physician clearance before training begins. That is a safety standard, not a formality.

3. Exercise and expeditions carry real risk

Physical training involves inherent risk of injury. High-altitude trekking adds risks that no amount of preparation fully removes, including altitude sickness, weather, terrain, and remote-environment hazards. Preparation reduces these risks, it does not eliminate them. By training with us or joining an expedition you acknowledge and voluntarily assume these risks, and expedition participants sign separate waiver and consent documents before departure.

4. Your data is a signal, not a diagnosis

Wearable and blood-panel data we reference is used to guide training. Consumer wearables are not medical devices, and their readings can be wrong. Never use anything we send you to start, stop, or change a medication or medical treatment. If your device or your body tells you something is wrong, stop and see a doctor.

5. Results vary

Fitness outcomes depend on your starting point, consistency, health, sleep, and factors nobody controls. Client stories and the coach's own metrics shown on this site are real examples, not promises that you will achieve the same. Where we offer a benchmark guarantee, its specific terms are set out in your coaching agreement, and it is a commitment about coaching continuation, not a guarantee of any health outcome.

6. Educational content

Articles in Field Notes and elsewhere on this site are general education written for a broad audience. They cannot account for your individual situation, and acting on them is at your own risk.
